Have you ever started a new health routine, only to feel like you’re doing it wrong? Maybe your workouts don’t look perfect, your diet isn’t flawless, or your progress feels too slow… so you start to wonder: Is this even worth it?
Here’s the truth: This mindset is a TRAP – one that keeps so many people stuck in pain, poor movement, and frustration. But there’s a way out… and it’s simpler than you might think.
Perfection Is the Enemy of Progress
In my practice as a chiropractor, I see this all the time, and it doesn’t matter what people are working on.
Getting out of back pain, headaches, metabolic issues or just add core strength…
People hold themselves back because they believe if they’re not doing something perfectly, they shouldn’t be doing it at all. Whether it’s improving posture, strengthening their core, or working on mobility, they hesitate, overthink, and eventually stop trying.
The result?
They stay in the same cycle of pain, stiffness, and frustration.
Do you want the good news?
You don’t have to be perfect to make progress. That’s arguably an impossible goal.
The Key to Unlocking Health & Movement Gains
Success is in the journey, though. It isn’t about getting everything right immediately – it’s about sticking with it, adjusting along the way, and trusting the process. This applies to:
- Chiropractic care – Consistency with adjustments and movement corrections matters more than waiting for the “perfect” time to start, and lasts longer than the point where you feel better.
- Exercise & mobility work – Small, daily actions compound over time. Imperfect movement is better than no movement (We should always work toward building proper core activation. This will help us maintain better posture and move more appropriately)!
- Nutrition & recovery – Your body doesn’t need a flawless diet. Instead, we need one that has sustainable choices that fuel healing and performance for the long-term. If you can’t sustain the changes, you’re setting yourself up for failure.
